Term 2 - January to March 2026
The Class were delighted to start their LegoWeDo projects, a few hiccups along the way, but the robots were buzzing around the class each week!
During Catholic Schools Week 2026 the class learned about different saints including our newest saint Carlos Acutis.
We spoke about Brigid, both the saint and the Irish Goddess, and the class learned how to make crosses.
🦖 UCC Trip
On January 15th, the Class travelled to UCC to visit the Domain of the Dinosaurs exhibition in the Glucksman. They were led on a tour of over 250 fossils on display, shown fossilised bones found in Ireland and the life-sized skeleton casts of Megalosaurus and Scelidosaurus.
They walked around the grounds of UCC and saw the Honan Chapel, the Boole Library and the famous quad. They also enjoyed a jaunt through Fitzgerald Park where we found Michael Collins and Éamon de Valera.

🏰The Great Norman Invasion!
4th Class learned all about the Normans, how and why they came to Ireland, how they shaped the cultures and landscapes at the time, and Norman surnames!
Each pupil created their own catapult, they had a competition to see who's catapult could send a missile the furthest.
In groups they also researched and presented their findings on Norman castles
