Senior Infants 2023-2024
BeeBots
Senior Infants had great fun using BeeBots over the last few weeks. A BeeBot is a programmable bee robot that is designed to be used by children. It can be programmed by using the arrows on its back to move forward, backwards or turn 90 degrees. We had lots fun programming the BeeBot to move in order to solve problems.
The Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition

Our Trip to the Cinema
Last Friday, we were lucky enough to go on a trip to the cinema in Killarney. We had a great time watching the movie 'Migration'.
Celebrating Catholic Schools Week

We reflected on the theme 'Catholic Schools: Communities of Service', and discussed different communities, including our own school community.

Dot Day Art
On Friday, we celebrated 'International Dot Day'. We listened to a lovely story called “The Dot”. We learned that we are all artists and that we can all be creative if we use our imagination.

Bee-Bots
Bee-Bots are a wonderful digital technologies resource to introduce students to coding and computational thinking. Senior Infants are having lots of fun learning how to use the Bee-Bots through problem solving.

Senior Infants loved exploring the school while carrying out a Maths Trail for Maths Week. Thank you to 6th Class for their great help! 🔢
Maths Eyes 👀
Senior Infants had great fun using their 'Maths Eyes'👀. They explored maths all around them and created these fantastic maths eyes posters at home. We really enjoyed answering each question in class. Can you answer their questions?
Maths Games Stations
Math stations are an excellent way to learn maths. For Maths Week 2022, we had fun playing lots of different maths games each morning. These included a variety of board games, threading numbers and patterns and games based upon 2D shapes and addition. We also had lots of fun playing bingo and a variety of dice games.

On March 9th, Senior Infants travelled to the Omniplex cinema in Killarney. We had a fabulous time watching Sing 2 on the big screen!

Barretstown Donation
On Friday October 22nd, Boherbue N.S. took part in a Halloween Dress Up Day/Non-Uniform Day to raise money for Barretstown Children's Charity. A grand total of €932 was collected. Senior Infants were delighted to take a picture with the cheque, on behalf of Boherbue N.S.

Senior Infants had a wonderful time learning about outer space. In History, we learned about Neil Armstrong and in Geography, we learned about the moon, earth, sun and stars. In Art, we created these fabulous flying saucers. Senior Infants' work is out of this world! 🌍

The recording of our school Christmas concert took place on 21st December 2021. Senior Infants had a wonderful time singing When Santa Got Stuck Up the Chimney and performing Hot Cross Buns and Twinkle Twinkle on the tin whistle.

Senior Infants have been busy practising throwing and catching as part of their Fundamental Movement Skills.
👻🎃Halloween in Senior Infants! 🎃👻
Senior Infants had lots of fun dressing up for Halloween on the day of the school holidays. The ice-cream van paid a special visit to Boherbue N.S. The children also enjoyed playing games such as 'Halloween Bingo' and completing spooky Halloween experiments. 🎃
