FÁILTE

A Thuismitheoirí,

Fáilte go Scoil Náisiúnta Bóthar Buí. “Ní neart go cur le chéile” mar a deir an seanfhocal agus sin an príomh aidhm in ár scoil. Teachers and parents are partners in the children's education, with co-operation and communication between home and school being vital ingredients in the educational process.

We, as teachers, in Boherbue N.S. share with you the task of educating our young people.

We endeavour in Boherbue N.S. to provide a school programme that challenges the pupil, caters for the full and harmonious development of each child and awards achievements so as to build confidence and self-esteem. We also aim to encourage creativity in our school by linking the experience of the school to that of the wider community and local environment.

Boherbue NS is a welcoming, happy school, where everyone works together for the benefit of the pupils who attend here. Boherbue NS offers an excellent opportunity for pupils to enjoy their primary education in a friendly, welcoming and pupil-centred atmosphere. We cultivate an environment that is conducive to learning and encourages pupils to achieve their full potential. We pride ourselves in valuing and treating each individual pupil equally.

We strive to instil confidence in our pupils and equip them with the skills to develop appropriately as responsible citizens of the future. Supported by a hardworking, dedicated and talented staff your child will have opportunities to be “the best they can be” during their time in the school.

It is with immense pride that I carry out my duties as Principal and I am extremely thankful to all those who help make Boherbue NS the unique, happy and special place that it is.

Warm regards,

Marie Casey

(Principal) and Teaching Staff of Boherbue N.S.

Vision

Boherbue N.S. is a Catholic Primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry.  We wish it to be a place where each individual pupil will be afforded the opportunity to develop morally, spiritually, physically, academically, aesthetically and culturally.  This development, we envisage, will occur in an atmosphere of mutual respect where all members of the school community – staff, parents, Board of Management, pupils – work in a spirit of co-operation, encouragement, collaboration and enthusiasm.

We envisage a professional caring staff committed to supporting the pupils, co-operative and tolerant, open to new ideas, approachable, motivated and diligent.

We envisage pupils, who feel safe and happy in our school, who will feel understood and secure and who will be recognised in their individuality and diversity.

We envisage a Board of Management that is supportive and well informed of the work in our school, appreciative of the needs of staff and aware of the resources required to ensure effective teaching and learning.

We envisage parents who are – supportive of the school, committed to their children’s learning, consulted, communicated with and feel that their opinions are valued, and, who co-operate and communicate with the school.

Mission Statement

Boherbue National School is a Catholic school which nurtures an inclusive, positive and co-operative educational environment. We celebrate the unique talents of each person in a positive and respectful atmosphere. Through holistic learning experiences, we are encouraged to achieve our potential and face life confidently.

We aim to provide an appropriate, stimulating and broadly challenging education for all of our pupils. We aim to encourage language learning and the appreciation of languages and their place in our culture and heritage. Boherbue NS encourages the involvement of parents through home-school contacts and through their involvement in the development and growth of the Parents’ Association.

At Boherbue NS we endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to instil in the pupils a respect for themselves, for other people and for property and to encourage the development of personal responsibility. We aim to prepare our pupils for their place in a modern multicultural society by actively promoting equality and by celebrating the diversity we have within our school community.

We strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes.

At Boherbue NS we encourage our pupils to have respect for diversity, environmental awareness and appreciation of our community.
