First and Second Class School Tour
First and Second Class enjoyed their school tour on Thursday, 4th June, travelling to Let’s Go! School Tours at Mallow GAA Complex for an action-packed day of activities. Pupils took part in a range of games throughout the day including archery, topple tubes, air mountain, air jumper, kmx carts, wobble ladder, disco, zorb, ga ga ball, and flash dash. They had plenty of fun and really enjoyed their day.
Active Schools Week
Active Schools Week has started in First Class and the children are enjoying lots of fun activities. So far, they have taken part in yoga, welly throwing, inflatables on the field and a colouring competition. They are looking forward to more activities later thsi month.
Fun in the Sun!
First Class took advantage of the sunny weather to enjoy some reading outdoors. The children loved relaxing in the yard with their books while making the most of the sunshine.

Lego STEAM Park
At the beginning of the school year, First Class enjoyed exploring and creating with the LEGO STEAM Park sets on loan from Tralee Education Centre. Through a variety of hands-on activities, the children developed their creativity, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. The lessons provided lots of opportunities for learning through play, investigation and discovery, and were enjoyed by all.
Friendship Week: Pyjamas and Pancake Tuesday
First Class had a wonderful time celebrating Pyjamas and Pancakes Tuesday during Friendship Week. The children arrived in their pyjamas and cosy clothes, enjoyed tasty pancakes, and spent the morning having fun with their classmates. They also had great fun pairinv up with Fifth Class for Friendship Week.

Football and Gymnastics
Throughout the year, First Class enjoyed football coaching sessions with Eamonn Lane through the Rebel Óg programme. The children had great fun developing their football skills, working together as a team and growing in confidence during the sessions.
Earlier this year, the class also took part in a block of gymnastics lessons with Fitness Ireland. Under the expert guidance of coach Mikie, the children enjoyed learning new movements and taking on exciting challenges while improving their balance, coordination and confidence.
Catholic Schools Week
First Class had great fun celebrating Catholic Schools Week. This year’s theme was Holiness, and the children learned how Jesus teaches us to be kind and caring. They discussed ways to show kindness at school and at home and created colourful hearts to celebrate friendship and helping others.

It has been such a busy September in First Class!
A nature table was created for Autumn and the children brought in lovely nature items.
The children have been working really hard in Maths, using geoboards and creating 2D shaped monsters.
In P.E., they have been practising catching and throwing beanbags and various shaped items.
They have created brilliant imaginative projects in STEM.
The children created their own music using various instruments.
